Located outside of Nashville, in Smyrna Tennessee, Sewarts Landing is a commercial development which seeks to blend an enjoyable experience as a pedestrian shopper while still being accessible via automobile. The project seeks to create a sense of place and enjoyment at the scale of the human eye, through its various interior streetscapes, pedestrian street, and project commons along the primary boulevard. Smyrna has a deep connection to aviation, formerly serving as the location of a major air force base, and this history is celebrated through the sculpture at the heart of the commons. Future phases offer the opportunity for additional public-park space, and the creation of a amphitheater on site for large communal events.
