Noble Park

RETAIL / PUBLIC SPACE
Nashville, TN | 2016-2020 | 0.25 acres

Noble Park and Laurel House Plaza make up over a half acre of community green space centralized in the heart of the Gulch, a mixed-use LEED neighborhood that has experienced booming development since its inception 15 years ago. Due to this rapid growth, the Gulch has experienced a significant deficiency in public outdoor gathering space, a void that these sites fill by providing functional open areas, planting, seating, and shade. Situated between this new building and Laurel House, Noble Park will consist of a 3,300sf lawn wrapped with bench seating and wooden chaises, providing flexible space for concerts, outdoor yoga, movie nights, and other community events. Planters adjacent to the lawn provide abundant greenery and shade and give a sense of enclosure to the space. An entry water feature identifies the space from the sidewalk, and a rear water feature, elevated deck, and grove of trees give visitors a quieter place of pause amidst the bustle of the neighborhood. A wooden boardwalk creates a permeable edge between the park and new building and guides visitors from the sidewalk to the rear of the park. Adjacent to both sites, trees line the sidewalk along the street.
